BAPE Hearing — Samonix Land-based Aquaculture Farm
Part 1 Question Period and Requests for Clarification
The first part of the BAPE Samonix hearing will consist of two bilingual public question sessions, with the possibility of a third session if required.
These initial sessions are intended to give all interested parties an opportunity to participate and have their questions directly answered by any of the attending representatives:
• Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
• Ministry of Health and Social Services
• Ministry of the Environment, the Fight against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks
• BAPE
• Samonix
• MRC Pontiac
• Municipality of Litchfield
There will also be opportunity to have questions addressed to Oceans and Fisheries Canada in writing, should the need arise.
During these initial sessions, the BAPE Commission will receive questions from participants and direct them to the appropriate representative in attendance. This first portion of the hearing is reserved for questions only. Comments, opinions, personal views, and formal submissions will be heard during the second portion of the hearing, which is scheduled for September.
Participants must register in order to be called upon to ask questions. Each participant will have an opportunity to ask two questions each time they are called upon. If the participant has more than two questions, they may register again.
These sessions will also be live-streamed allowing participants to choose how they wish to attend.

If the number of participants and questions cannot be accommodated during the first two sessions, a third additional session will be scheduled if necessary.
Participants should not plan to wait for a third session to participate. If a third session is not required, there will be no additional opportunity to ask questions. Anyone wishing to ensure that they have an opportunity to participate should attend one of the first two scheduled sessions.
